One of the strengths of United Way SA is how we distribute
the funds raised. A Board of Management is elected and
comprises volunteers drawn from many local corporate
organisations and the wider community. An Allocation
Committee is formed from the Board of Management and
local community workers, who actively become involved
with community organisations that are seeking assistance.
Therefore, each year funds are distributed to a broad
group of beneficiaries on a proof of needs basis. Hundreds
of charities and community groups have been supported
over recent years.

Past
beneficiaries have included Spina Bifida Association,
Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of SA, Parkinsons
SA, Meals on Wheels, Community Houses, State Emergency
Service, St John Ambulance, community groups and many
health, welfare and environmental groups around South
Australia.
United Way SA Annual Grants
The allocation of funds through community grants, including
all donated funds and surplus funds from bingo tickets
sales, occurs at the end of each financial year.
