United Way of the Southern Alleghenies Diaper Bank

The United Way of the Southern Alleghenies Diaper Bank distributes approximately 15,000 diapers every month to families throughout our service area. Below, you’ll find details on diaper bank locations and hours. Diapers are provided to families in Blair County through UWSA's Family Resource Center as we work to scale the program there.

UWSA’s diaper bank is accredited by the National Diaper Bank Network, a recognition that affirms our program’s quality, accountability, and impact in the community.

Why It’s Needed

Nearly half of families in our region struggle to afford enough diapers, often falling short by about 25 diapers each month. This shortfall creates serious challenges:

  • It compromises basic hygiene for infants and toddlers.

  • It forces difficult financial decisions for families.

  • Many childcare providers require parents to supply diapers — so when families run out, parents may miss work to stay home with their children.

Access to diapers is essential for family stability, early childhood wellbeing, and a parent’s ability to maintain employment.
