The Get Active Blair County Committee, Blair Planning, and corporate partners invite residents to join the Fall Active Living Challenge, a free and fun way for individuals, schools, workplaces, and community groups to get active together.
Participants can sign up individually or as part of a team and log their daily activities — from yard work and hiking to walking the dog or playing pickleball. Real-time team rankings will be posted online, and ribbons will be awarded to top participants in each category.
“The Challenge is about finding fun ways to move and stay healthy,” United Way of the Southern Alleghenies President and CEO Karen Struble said. “Fall is the perfect time to get outside and get active.”
The coalition is under United Way's umbrella.
Signing up is simple: visit www.healthyblaircountycoalition.org and click on the banner link. Select your team (or create one), and start logging your minutes. Most activity types count toward your total.
The initiative aims to help Blair County families, friends, and coworkers build a culture of active living, with at least two community challenges planned each year.
